Atlanta is planting the seeds of a more just, sustainable, and community-centered food system — and everyone has a role to play. Earlier this year, the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability and Resilience launched the city’s first-ever Food Ecosystem Survey, a powerful tool designed to map how food moves through our neighborhoods and identify ways to improve access, equity, and sustainability in every part of our local food system. From farms and gardens to corner stores and family tables, Atlanta is working to better understand the full picture of how food impacts our lives — and how we can ensure fresh, affordable food is within reach for all Atlantans.

This work is rooted in the belief that real solutions must be shaped by the people who live them every day. That’s why residents who complete the survey are helping directly guide the city’s future food policies, programs, and resource allocation. Your input isn’t just valuable — it’s essential to our process. By lifting up community voices, Atlanta is aiming to create a food system that reflects the city’s rich cultural diversity, local knowledge, and the collective vision of a healthier future for all.

To deepen this engagement, the city has also launched a brand new online platform dedicated to the City’s efforts to build a robust local food ecosystem. This interactive digital space offers resources, community surveys, a farm and garden directory, local event listings, and highlights the many grassroots leaders and growers who are nourishing our communities. Whether you're a grower, a neighbor, a chef, or a student — this is our collective space to learn, connect, and get engaged.

Atlanta’s food future is being shaped right now — and it's being shaped by us. By coming together, sharing our experiences, and uplifting community-driven solutions, we can grow a food system that is equitable, abundant, and rooted in care. Let your voice be heard, click here to take a brief survey.
